WORDS ‘N’ PICTURES: The Great Regression

7 Sep

It’s not really comics, but it is Words And Pictures, so what the hell.

The New York Times posted a graphic showing what Robert Reich has been saying about the U.S. economy and the Rich-vs.-Everyone Else war:

Reich Graphic

I don’t always agree with Reich, but he’s always worth paying attention to.

Nice data presentation. Edward Tufte would be proud.

LOL @ Robert Reich and all the other 1960s class warfare-propagating, flaming leftists that all the Wall Street-occupying “cool” kids are worshipping nowadays.

Just off the top of my head, three things that help explain those graphs are (1) technology (what are you going to do, give raises to all the machines that have increased productivity?), (2) excessive taxation of corporations by Congress (America has the highest or second highest corporate tax rates in the world), which incites companies to send their manufacturing overseas to cheaper labor, with catastrophic effect on the middle class and wage earners, and (3) large-scale entitlement programs by congressional Democrats, which require them to confiscate more and more of the earnings of the small business owners who are paying the lower and middle classes their wages and salaries.

F the New York Times and their blatant, hyper-partisan, socialist/Marxist reportage.
