I got this email the other day:
I’m Richard C. Meyer, an animator and cartoonist and I’m currently running a Kickstarter campaign for my graphic novel “No Enemy, But Peace” about the heroics I witnessed in Iraq from other Marines.
The campaign has accomplished 59% of its goals in 1 week with 17 days to go. I’m interested in getting a story done on the campaign. This is my first Kickstarter campaign and it is a real eye-opener.
Here is some art from the graphic novel as well as other books I have coming out in the next 6 months.
Thank you,Richard C. Meyer
Author Meyer, who served with the Marines featured in this story, calls this “The true story of Sgt. Marco Martinez, a former gang-banger who joined the Marines and earned the Navy Cross in Iraq.” Looks pretty cool. This independent project was originally published in black-and-white in 2008, but this new edition will have additional story pages and be in full color – if it can reach its goal within the next 4 days.
As of right now, the Kickstarter is at $3143 of its $3600 goal. I think this one definitely deserves support – but it needs a few more pledges to reach its goal so it can be published.
There are several more story pages and video in the link. Give it a look, won’t you?
